A friend handed us a letter from Warrensburg Mo., bearing date the 24th April, from which we take the following. We are thinking they will find Law and Order “a few too many” for them.
There are some bushwhackers in the country. A gang of forty were crossing the Mo. river last Sunday, after they had whipped a squad of E.M.M. then they attacked Capt. James D. Eads’s co. “M,” in which they did not make anything, ‘M’ co. held their ground, the rebels then passed on and crossed over the river the same evening. They told the citizens they were going to the Law and Order District of North Mo., and they would show them that Mo. was not yet in a state of Law and Order, by at least a year.
