This unusual map shows the rural Poosey community (1900-1920) located just east of Daviess County, MO, in an area spanning portions of Grundy and Livingston Counties. This map was prepared by Noel Davidson and drawn by Noel Roger Davidson II in July of 1987, from maps belonging to Ed Snidow and Anna Burgess. (the copy here is courtesy of Ray Dockery, Trenton).
Today Poosey is designated as a Conservation Area by the Missouri Department of Conservation, an area are places of special historic interest where it is desirable to preserve and enhance the character and appearance of such areas. Poosey is particularly popular as a destination for visitors during the colorful fall season. The northern half of the Poosey Conservation Area offers a 20-mile network of trails and service roads that are open to equestrian use.
