Before constructing a new brick facility across the street, Gallatin Motor Company operated a Ford dealership from the McClaskey Building (later to house Woodruff Ice Cream Factory) at 211 North Main Street. New Ford Model-T cars are shown at right. The newspaper office of the Gallatin North Missourian was next door at left. Gallatin Motors later moved across the street into new facilities. New Ford Model-T cars were available for sale at Gallatin Motor Company which did business from the McClaskey Building located on North Main Street in Gallatin, MO. The building featured a freight elevator so that vehicles could be stored or repaired upstairs on the second level. The newspaper office of the Gallatin North Missourian is shown at left while a portion of the porch fronting the Gallatin Democrat is at right.

This is the Gallatin Motor Company building under construction at 212 North Main Street. The facility was “fireproof” and measured 130×120 feet at a cost of about $40,000. Joe Tate managed the family business at the time of this construction. In the background is the steeple of Kenney Chapel (Baptist church).

Gallatin Motor Company was a Ford dealership (1917-20) and sold Skelly gasoline from a streetside pump at 212 North Main Street in Gallatin, MO. Later the business gained widespread notoriety as a Chevrolet dealership, especially in truck sales.

Gallatin Motors displayed used vehicles for sale on a car lot located at 601 South Main Street in Gallatin, MO. This was just north of the cap factory (circa 1965).

During its last years of operation, Gallatin Motors sold Honda motorcycles from this brick building located at 701 South Main Street while still locating its Chevrolet franchise on North Main Street. The motorcycle business later sold to Lyle Warford who moved it to Pattonsburg, MO.
