The Old Scotland Church is located north on Highway K from Highway 6, then west on Flint Avenue half a mile in the Madelaine community.

In November 1855 several families of Scottish descent migrated to Daviess County, MO. The following February, the 8-year-old son of James Scott died and was buried in a pasture, which later was a part of the 3 acres given by Mr. Scott for a public cemetery named Pilot Grove and later changed to the Old Scotland Church of Christ and Cemetery. The 48’x32′ building built in 1902 features a small extension on its south. The church is located 9 miles north on Route K, then left 3/4 mile on a gravel road. (Source: Irven and Alice Skinner)

The Old Scotland Church, located north on Highway K from Highway 6, then west on Flint Avenue half a mile in the Madelaine community. Its members observed the congregation’s 150th anniversary on Aug. 26-27, 2009.The congregation works together to maintain the building and cemetery grounds. In 1997, people came from all over, including professional carpenters and electricians, to give the old church a refurbishing. They put up new siding and a new roof. The bleachers were taken out and the whole floor varnished. (2012 photo)
