Various young men and women have served the bank for different periods as bookkeepers and our bank is proud to have had them work with us and know that the training received here has been of value to them in their later occupations.
The Bank of Coffey was organized August 13, 1897, with a capital stock of $10,000, which has since increased to $30,000.
The Bank of Coffey has occupied three banking houses in the town. The first home of the bank was on the lot between the Harper Butler home and the Coffey Locker. The second building is directly north across the street from the present banking quarters. In 1928, the Farmers Bank of Coffey failed in business. Since that time, they have occupied and modernized the building so that, at present, it is one which the bank and community can be proud.
